Hello, I am Phd student on Social Sciences at University of Buenos Aires, and also work at the Instituto de Estudios sobre la Ciencia y la Tecnología, at University of Quilmes, Argentina. I got my degree on sociology at UBA and did a MA in Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths College, London in 2004.
My phd research focus on the History of cloning of mammals in Argentina and Brazil. Currently I am in the process of writing the first draft of the thesis (at last...). I am trying to discuss several topics around cloning, including: • implications of the selection of animals models on research, • centre-periphery relations on research in cloning, • strategies for the construction of a science-culture divide in cloning of mammals, • subjetivity transformations among researchers on cloning • relations between lab and field research
I am eager to discuss on this issues and others relating the relation biology and society from a STS point of view.
I am also involve in research in Social Technologies in Argentina and Brazil (which is very important considering the problems of the region).
I also like to dance tango and read sci-fi novels (life is not only a thesis!!)
